A true Helvetian Napoleon, the 20 Francs Vrénéli or "Helvetia head" is Switzerland's most famous gold coin. On the obverse, Helvetia is a personification of the Swiss federal state, often compared to the French Marianne. She is dressed in an "Edelweiss" dress and her hair is braided. On the reverse side, the Swiss coat of arms is engraved, surrounded by an oak branch. 22 stars representing the 22 Swiss cantons adorn the edge.
