Italian chest of drawers made in wood that presents two registers with the same design. The front has two large drawers, decorated with a compartmentalised design which creates the optical illusion of a greater number of drawers. This idea is reinforced by the gilded metal applications in which the handles and locks are inserted. Standing on four legs, the lower edge of the front has a cut-out decoration based on curves contrasted with counter-curves and protrusions, as well as a light-coloured profile outlining both these elements and the fronts, undulating upwards. The sides, however, have straighter structures. These elements are decorated with classicist-inspired vegetal and geometric ornamentation. The straight upper panel again repeats the curves on the front and on the sides, unlike the sides of the wooden structure, which are straight.
The piece of furniture has a movement in its fronts and in the lower areas that reminds us of examples of the same origin but in the Rococo style of the 18th century. It should be noted that the protagonist of the piece of furniture is the wood, and that with the aim of highlighting its natural grain and colouring, the use of both marquetry and appliqués in the work has been relatively reduced.
