L.A.S. "C.E. Brown-Séquard", October 29, 1890, to a "Dear and Illustrious Master"; 2 pages and a quarter in-12 addressed to him.
He regrets that his state of health does not allow him to go and see his master, to talk to him about what we have just done with D'ARSONVAL & me, rue Claude Bernard [at the Collège de France]. On his return from the Limousin where he has just been, "my substitute will show you what has been done (at my personal expense). I hope that you will have no difficulty in obtaining from the Assembly the nomination of D'Arsonval as Substitute for the school year 1890-1891. He complains about an "insolent letter" from the bailiff Lesage: "Many times in the last 12 years, this employee has been extremely insolent towards me and I have constantly found him excessively negligent. [...] If it were possible that I would no longer have to deal with this bailiff, I would be very happy. He is the antithesis of gratitude: his father, for more than a year, although he does absolutely nothing more for me or for D'Arsonvel, receives from me a pension of 40 Fr. per month"...
A P.A.S. from Simeon-Denis POISSON (1781-1840), Paris April 1, 1838, receipt of his salary for the month of March (1 p. in-12) is attached.
