APULIAN RED-FIGURE SKYPHOS DATE: half IV sec. a. C. MATERIAL AND TECHNIQUE: chamois figulina clay, shiny black paint, white and yellow overpainting, orange coloring, modeled by fast lathe. Rounded rim, truncated cone bowl, ring foot, ribbon handles set horizontally on the rim. ADDITIONAL DECORATION: entirely painted with the exception of the lower part of the attack of the foot; under the lip ionic kyma; under the scenes figured meander to wave right, under the handles large palmettes open to fan between volutes and inflorescences; to the attack with the foot radial lines. DECORATION: side A) Erotes androgynous nude with hair wrapped in sakkos, stephane radiata on the forehead and armillas on wrists and ankles, facing left, with the left leg resting on a pile of stones in the act of supporting a mirror with his right hand and a phiale in the other; side B) young woman seated and turned to the right with her hair gathered in a kekryphalos embroidered from which emerges a vaporous tuft, the girl wears the stephane radiata, earrings with pendants and necklace, wearing a long pleated chiton and supports a cista with the right and a harpsichord in the left.
