APULIAN SKYPHOS WITH RED FIGURES
DATE: IV cent. BC.
MATERIAL AND TECHNIQUE: pinkish figulina clay, shiny black paint, orange coloring, modeled in a quick lathe.
Slightly everted lip with rounded rim, ovoid body tapered downwards, ring foot, stick handles set horizontally under the rim.
DECORATION: on both sides, standing owl of three quarters with wings closed on the back and turned to the right, between vertical olive branches.
PRODUCTION: Apulian pottery with red figures
STATE OF CONSERVATION: fully reassembled from fragments
DIMENSIONS: h. cm 7,5; diam. mouth cm 9
ORIGIN: private collection, Bari
