TWO DAUNIAN FUNNEL-SHAPED OLLAE
Form I, type 23 and 24, De Juliis 1977
DATING: Subgeometric Daunian II, 550-400 BC.
MATERIAL AND TECHNIQUE: pinkish purified clay, chamois mottling, brown paint; modeled by slow lathe.
Funnel-shaped rim; globular body flattened at the poles; flat bottom; half-annular flattened stick handles, set obliquely on the shoulder, decorated with arcs of circles on the rim and geometric motifs alternating with horizontal bands on the shoulder and belly.
