TWO DAUNIAN FUNNEL-SHAPED OLLAE Form I, type 22 and 24, De Juliis 1977 DATING: Subgeometric Daunian II, 550-400 BC. MATERIAL AND TECHNIQUE: pinkish purified clay, chamois mottling, brown and paonazza paint; modeled by slow lathe. Funnel-shaped rim; globular body flattened at the poles; flat bottom; half-annular flattened stick handles, set obliquely on the shoulder, alternating with two rectangular plastic appendages; decorated with arcs of circles on the rim and geometric motifs alternating with horizontal bands on the shoulder and belly. PRODUCTION: daunia pottery STATE OF CONSERVATION: whole, encrusted, slight chipping, one with recomposed mouth DIMENSIONS: h. cm 30,5 and cm 28; diam. mouth cm 27 and cm 24,5 CFR.: E. M.
