Jourdain In-12 bound in full burgundy morocco. Spine decorated with small irons with the fleur de lys repeated on the plates in spandrels. Fillets on the plates. All edges gilt. Brocade paper endpapers. Copy early eighteenth century. (1ff blc) 197 pages (3ff blc). Manuscript with a very legible writing. Regulated copy. 4 engravings on Versailles by Aveline (View of the castle, view and perspective of the Arc de Triomphe, view and perspective of the water theater, view and perspective of the labyrinth) are attached or folioed. Ex libris manuscript Monfaucon (Haute Loire) 1745. Lack of paper on one engraving, cracks of paper without lack on the 3 remaining ones. Endpapers soiled, some leaves foxed. Slight lack of leather at the foot. Unfortunately, our copy is missing pages 161 to 168 and 173 to 180. The work is dedicated to the "Princess of Conti Dowager". Marie-Anne de Bourbon, (1644-1710), legitimated daughter of Louis XIV and the duchess de la Vallière, called Mademoiselle de Blois, married in 1680 Louis-Armand 1erde Bourbon, prince of Conti, who died in 1685, when she was given the title of "princesse douairière". Rare copy of this erudite and aristocratic walk in the gardens of Versailles in a so-called "Court" binding.
