Captain of dragoons, then butler of the duchess of Burgundy, Titon du Tilllet conceived the project of erecting a monument to the glory of the poets and musicians of the reign of Louis XIV : "For me, Admirer of so many illustrious men, who have made their names and their glory immortal, I have hazarded to raise to the famous poets and musicians, a monument that I have named Parnassus Francis, over which presides Louis The Great, the August Protector of Science & Fine Arts"
This grandiose and grandiloquent monument was never built....The work remains today a true source of biographical information on the XVIIth and XVIIIth century.
