Terracotta with remains of polychromy (red and black pigments)

Provenance
Former French collection, 1985
With Silenus head. The face is framed by a beard of long curly strands joining the hair and mustache. The eyes are wide open, the eyebrows are frowning. The mouth is fleshy and half-open.
The hair is decorated with a plant crown. On the side, the ear is apparent and pointed. Presence of black pigment on the hair, the beard, the eyes. The face has traces of red pigment. Lacunar, but good quality.
An hellenistic polychromed terracotta Silenus head antefix. The face is framed by a beard of long curly locks joining the hair and mustache. The eyes are wide, the brow furrowed.
The mouth is fleshy and semi-opened. The hair is adorned with a vegetable crown. On the side, the ear is uncovered and pointed. Presence of black pigment on the hair, beard, eyes.
The face shows traces of red pigment. Fragmentary, but good quality. Ca. 3rd-2nd century B.C.
