Roman art, 4th-5th century.
Gold, cruciform type. The arch is very rounded, the buttons are pointed.
The cruciform fibula, characteristic of Late Antiquity, was worn by high-ranking dignitaries, members of the imperial court, high officials of the administration, military officers and veterans of the army. A roman gold crossbow (type 6) brooch, each of the two lateral knobs trimmed with beading, one at the head likewise. The crossbow fibula, typical of late Antiquity, was worn by high-ranking dignitaries, members of the imperial court, high administration officials, servicemen, military officers and veterans of the army. It even became an official distinction in the second half of the 4th century. Ca. 4th - 5th century A.D.
