An important Byzantine gold ring set with a large cabochon garnet.
The massive hoop rounded within and pointed without is flanked with two crosses.
On top, the large oval gold box is set with a beautiful vivid red garnet and also flanked with two flatten beaded cross motifs. These elements enhancing the religious aspect of the ring is typical of the byzantine elite jewlery.
