A return to the naturalism of the 19th century revisited by Pompon, a sculpted painting from which the sculptor had wanted to emancipate himself: the drawing dates from before 1914 with the Calf, but the 1927 model seems to have a connection with a trip to Savoy (photos Fonds M'O)
