Size 333 x 245 cm
Velvet of silky lambswool on a cotton foundation. It is decorated with four paintings representing pilgrimages to four cities, mosques, palaces and monuments: -Soltaniyeh (city near Zanjan and Tabriz) -Taq-e Bostan, -Mechheq, -Chiriaz, where the tomb of Danus the Great is located. Seven borders, the main one with columns showing a lake of swans, a scene of hunting wild animals (in honour of the Persian king Bahran, a great hunter), the construction of monuments, representations of the festivals of Persepolis, lions and figures carrying stones. Density of about 8000 knots per square meter. Good general condition.
