This landscape is typical of van Uden's style, with the rocky outcrops and trees in the foreground, a reminder of Joos de Momper in the elevated view and the undoubted influence of his master Peter Paul Rubens. The figure of Mercury and Argus that enliven the landscape also comes from him. A similar replica is in a private collection and is collected by Larsen in his General History of Flemish Painting. Exhibitions: "Rubens and his century", Mexico City, Museo Nacional de San Carlos, November 1998 - February 1999 and Ferrara, Palazzo dei Diamanti, March - June 1999. Reproduced in the exhibition catalogue, p. 228, no. 104 . 55,5 x 81,5 cm. Oil on table
