Beautiful edition of this successful biblical repertoire, written by the author with the aim of teaching the meaning, etymology, pronunciation, accents and morphology of all the difficult words in the Bible for the benefit of the minor clergy. The curious title metaphorically refers to babies who need to be weaned from their mother's milk.
4to (210 x 150mm). Rubricated in red with some large decorated initials (without blanks A1 and B10, some spotting). 18th-century binding with vellum spine. Provenance: Contemporary ownership inscription on the back of the colophon "Hoc liber est mon.ris sa.s iustine de Padua.." - 19th century notes on the back of the first plate.

Bella edizione di questo fortunato repertorio biblico, redatto dall'autore con l'obiettivo di insegnare il significato, l'etimologia, la pronuncia, gli accenti e la morfologia di tutte le parole difficili presenti nella Bibbia a beneficio dei clerici minori. Il curioso titolo fa metaforicamente riferimento ai bambini che hanno bisogno di essere svezzati dal latte della madre.
4to (210 x 150mm). Rubricato in rosso con alcune grandi iniziali decorate (mancano le carte bianche A1 e B10, qualche fioritura). Legatura del XVIII secolo con dorso in pergamena e piatti in cartonato. Provenienza: firma di possesso coeva al retro del colophon "Hoc liber est mon.ris sa.s iustine de Padua.." - note del XIX secolo al retro del primo piatto e scheda di una biblioteca privata.
