A SILVER MEDICINE BOX PORTRAYING MACCHANU Cambodia, around 1900. The lidded silver box delicately embossed and incised with floral décor. The lid portraying Macchanu, the son of Hanuman and Suvannamaccha, queen of the mermaids, carrying a sword in high relief. The base shows engraved characters. Condition: Overall good condition with minor casting imperfections. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above.
