A LOBED ENAMEL BOX AND A FAMILLE VERTE VASE
China, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) to Republic period (1912-1949). The baluster vase dates to the late Qing Dynasty and rises from a splayed foot to a waisted neck molded with a bamboo groove, painted in bright enamels from the Famille Verte palette with courtiers in a palace garden. The base with an apocryphal six-character Kangxi reign mark within a double circle.
The lobed box dating to the Republic period is brightly enameled to the top of the lid with a couple of magpies perched on a peony branch, the sides with reserves enclosing various birds and flowers, on a scrolling foliage ground.
Condition: The box in good condition with some chips along the rims and touch-ups. The vase in excellent condition with only minor surface scratches.
