A FAMILLE ROSE BOTTLE VASE WITH LID
China, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). The compressed globular body rising from a recessed foot to a cylindrical neck. Brightly enamelled with a hen, a butterfly, a peacock, and birds within a fenced garden further decorated with craggy rocks, blooming peonies, cherry blossoms, and bamboo. With a border of floral scrolls against a dotted ground and lobed reserves enclosing birds below the rim. The lid with floral designs.
Condition: With wear and manufacturing flaws as well as a long hairline crack though the body with associated chips. The lid with larger chips and a repair.
