TWO SMALL CELADON GLAZED JARS China, Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). One of baluster shape rising from a stepped foot to a broad straight neck, covered with a thick celadon glaze stopping neatly above the lower body and exposing the reddish-orange buff. One of globular shape with a short, concave neck, vertical ribs to the lower part and lotus scroll to the upper part. Covered in celadon crackled glaze of willow green hue. Condition: Very good condition with firing flaws, and minor wear. Provenance: Holzapfel collection, Geneva, Switzerland. This lot was acquired by a second-generation member of the Holzapfel family and has remained in the family ever since.
