A SONG STYLE QINGBAI GLAZED EWER AND COVER
China, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) to Republic period (1912-1949). The globular body rising from a short ring foot to a narrow tubular neck, set with a strap handle and faceted curved spout, with a tiered tubular shaped cover. The body molded in relief with petals and ornamental designs. Overall covered with a light blueish glaze, except for the base, revealing the sand-colored buff.
Condition: Good condition with some wear and firing irregularities. Some minute fritting and glaze erosion.
Provenance: Ex-Collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above. Dr. István Zelnik, President of the Hungarian South and Southeast Asian Research Institute, is a former high-ranking Hungarian diplomat who spent several decades in Southeast Asia, building the largest known private collection of Asian art in Europe.
