A STAG ANTLER CANE HANDLE OF AN ONI Japan, Meiji period (1868-1912) The stag antler cane handle depicting an oni climbing on top of the cane, holding a mallet in his left hand, with finely incised hair all over the body, a grim facial expression showing his sharp fangs, and the bowl cut hairstyle made of horsehair.
