MIYAO: A BRONZE VASE DEPICTING A SAMURAI AND BIRDS By the Miyao company, signed Miyao zo Japan, Meiji period (1868-1912) The bulbous body rising from a spreading foot to a waisted neck, depicting two detailed scenes, with a samurai on one side and birds on the opposite side. The vase is further embellished with fine details of clouds, dragons and delicate patterns. The central section of the vase is framed by a rim on the top and bottom. The underside is signed MIYAO zo. SIZE 18.5 cm x 16.5 cm WEIGHT 2,961 g Condition: Very good condition with minor wear and a few small nicks and scratches mainly on the bottom. Provenance: French private collection.
