AN ARCHAISTIC ZOOMORPHIC BRONZE AND CLOISONNÉ WINE VESSEL HU
China, Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). The large vessel clearly inspired by the ritual wine vessels from the Shang dynasty. Composed of a globular body and a cover connected by a swing handle made of three movable sections. Cast with a small c-shaped handle at one end and a spout at the other. The cover shaped as an abstract avian head with curled horns, prominent eyes and beak separately hinged to the center of the mask. Decorated with a cloisonne band around the body and ornaments on the cover.
Condition: Good condition with traces of wear, casting flaws and some minor dents and nicks to edges.
