A MING-STYLE BRONZE FIGURE OF AVALOKITESHVARA China, Ming Dynasty Style but first half of the 20th century. The deity cast seated in padmasana with the right hand in vitarkamudra, dressed in a loose robe, richly decorated with floral borders and a beaded jewelry around the chest, elongated earlobes and ornate earrings, wearing a serene expression and downcast eyes, framed by an elaborate headdress in openwork centered by Amitabha Buddha. The figure can be dissembled into three parts, the base, which is surmounted by a removable lotus pedestal and the bronze figure itself. The lotus pedestal has two lotus buds cast at the sides where two adorant figures could be placed. Condition: Fine condition with surface wear, occasional light scratches, and small losses.
