MALLARMÉ (Stéphane).
Dyptique (sic).
Paris : NRF, 1929. - Booklet in-8, stapled, dark blue morocco spine folder and slipcase.
RARISSIVE ORIGINAL EDITION of this short text of only 3 pages, an offprint of the Nouvelle Revue Française, known from less than 5 copies.
Doctor Edmond Bonniot presents this diptych in these terms: "Just as, on the purely poetic level, we have the good fortune to possess from Mallarmé, in Igitur and in the Coup de dés the alpha and omega of his curriculum vitae, we have been given, in the field of criticism, also very much his own, to find two important texts representing, as it were, two poles of the sphere for this order of research; we are bringing them together here under the name of the Diptych: the first probably written between the years 1865 and 1870, the other which we must date from 1893. - Parallel trajectories marking the unity of vision of a whole life".
Copy of Dr. Lucien-Graux, perfectly preserved, who added 2 copies of the NRF offprint of Mallarmé's "Ouverture ancienne d'Hérodiade", paginated 513 to 516 under a special publisher's cover.
