BALZAC (Honoré de). Ursule Mirouet. Paris : Hyppolite Souverain, 1842. - 2 volumes in-8, burgundy half calf, spine ribbed and decorated, head spotted, untrimmed (early 20th century binding). Rare first edition of this famous novel by Balzac, dedicated to his niece mademoiselle Sophie Surville. The author considered it as "the masterpiece of the painting of manners". A beautiful copy, washed, in a pastiche binding from the beginning of the 20th century. Stains on the endpapers of the second volume.
