BALZAC (Charles-Louis).
Collection of poems ad libitum.
Paris : printing house of Madame Hérissant Le Doux, 1817. - In-8, dark blue half calf, smooth spine decorated, spotted edges (period binding).
Rare first edition of this collection of poems by the poet, draftsman and architect Charles-Louis Balzac (1752-1820). He was one of the main members of the Egyptian expedition. In particular, he provided numerous drawings for the "Description de l'Égypte".
The illustration includes a portrait of the author and a frontispiece engraved after one of his compositions.
A good copy in contemporary binding. Scattered foxing, mainly on the portrait and the frontispiece. Mottling on the endpapers.
