"George SAND] Copy of the correspondence between Alfred de Musset and Georges Sand (19 quai Malaquais - Venice), from 24 June 1833 to 1835 (1836). 241 numbered sheets, about fifty letters copied in a very legible handwriting by Lina Sand, wife of Maurice Sand, sister-in-law of Solange Clésinger.
The whole, in-8 format, is bound in half-percaline, with the spine titled by hand ""Letters from Musset to G. Sand"". Provenance: Antonio Barrette Library (ex-libris).
The set is accompanied by an autograph letter signed by Lina Sand, from Nohant on June 16, 1895, addressed to Solange Clésinger in which she specifies ""I gladly give my authorization [to the publication of the letters] and I wish yours, Solange, because I hope that this work by M. de Spoelberch will cut short the calumnies invented in favor of Musset against George Sand", and a draft letter, autograph signed Clésinger Sand, from Montgivray on June 20, 1895, to Spoelberch de Lovenjoul (a great Belgian collector and writer, author of a Bibliographical Study on the works of George Sand) concerning the publication of her mother's letters."
