Van Schooten, Stoneware dish of mussels and pitcher with a beer glass; Oyster dish with wild strawberries, pair of canvasses 70 x 92 cm - 271/2 x 361/4 in. We illustrate our painting with this stoneware pourer. The grey body is partially covered with a cobalt blue tinted glaze. The shape of the ewer and its decoration are typical of the productions of Raeren (Walloon Belgium) and Westerwald (Germany) at the end of the 16th century.
