Red chalk, over indications in black chalk, within red chalk framing lines; signed in pen and brown ink, lower left: Manglar 25,4 x 28,7 cm - 10 x 111/4 in. Manglard, who was born in Lyon, was a pupil of the Dutch artist Adriaen van der Cabel. He spent the last part of his life in Rome, where his pupils included Claude-Joseph Vernet.
