Claude Marin/Set of 4 drawings illustrating various characters for Marijac's publications. India ink and blue pencil around 1950. Rare. The set is grouped on an A4. BSC+.
At 14 years old, he begins his career under the wing of Marijac. This one makes him enter the newspaper which he has just created, Coq hardi. His first job was to illustrate the Rouletabosse Reporter series, written by his creator Marijac. For nearly 20 years, he animated many characters, the most famous being Santa Claus. At ease with both realistic and comic styles, he produced a number of illustrations for the Flemish magazine Kleine Zondagsvriend during the 1950s. In the middle of the 1960s, he gave up comics to work in advertising for children's clothing. This interlude lasted 10 years. In 1976, he met Greg who encouraged him to return to comics by creating Frère Boudin for Achille Talon magazine.
In 1979, pushed by Michel Mandry, he realizes his childhood dream and enters Disney by drawing for the Journal de Mickey. In 1986, he creates the Disney Babies which will be one of the favorite series of the readers during the years 1980.
