Didier Chrispeels alias Crisse begins his career by drawing on canvas in Lyon at eighteen years old. Then follows a career in comics with Ocean's King for the magazine Spirou in 1979 and Nahomi, a Japanese princess for Tintin in 1980. At the end of the 80's he realized the dyptic on the Russian revolution "The shadows of the past" where his particular style will develop further. He moved to France and started the heroic fantasy series "L'Épée de Cristal" in collaboration with Jacky Goupil. This series is a great success and becomes a reference of the genre. He is then recruited by the Éditions Soleil, for which he draws several successful series, in particular "Kookaburra" and "Atalante".
