Pleyers Jean/Original drawing illustrating a pirate and ships from different eras. Quality work, made for the French model maker "Heller" around 1980? India ink and graphite. Rare. Framed in aluminum with protective glass. TBE+. 52 X 38 cm
Jean Pleyers was born in 1943 in Verviers and trained in Liege. He starts in Spirou and draws 2 stories of Uncle Paul, 4 stories in Tintin and a western in Le Soir. At Humanoïdes Associés, he signed two science fiction albums: L'exode (1982) and Le péril extrazorien (1984). He also published "Les enragés de la peste blanche" and "West stories" at Deligne.
In the meantime, Jacques Martin chose him to draw the story of "Jhen", a young architect befriended by Gilles de Rays, who travels around Europe to build. At first under the name of Xan he published 2 albums "L'or de la mort" and "Jehanne de France" and then under his real name until 2019.
