Malik/Original drawing illustrating Cupid. India ink around 2000. TBE+ 20 X 25 cm
William Tai alias Malik (1948-2020) starts his career at "Spirou" in a realistic register from 1970. After a collaboration with "Belles Histoires de l'Oncle Paul" he launches his successful series "Archie Cash", an action character with a hot and boiling character with a Charles Bronson look. Still for "Spirou", after a few gags of "Plumber" and "The secret life of garbage" he animates "Cupidon" with Raoul Cauvin from 1988. Malik also realized illustrations in the magazine "Schtroumpf", in 1989 and in "Le Soir", in 1992.
Passing with an apparent ease from a realistic graphics to a humorous treaty, Malik practices a dynamic and original comic strip.
