Unique Parisian lady's desk with chinoiserie, Louis XVI style, end of the 19th century. In the style of Adam Weisweiler (1746-1820). Rosewood, walnut, Japan lacquer, Makei gold lacquer. Rectangular, multi-leveled corpus on high conical legs with lower shelves at the sides. Top with green leather inlay and gold embossing. Top with baluster-shaped rim and four drawers. Panels on the sides with black Japan lacquer with gold painting and very finely drawn landscape scenes. Special feature: this piece of furniture is meant to be detached and placed freely, as it is decorated on all sides. Furniture of the highest quality, covered with fire-gilded bronzes on the reverse. Traces of wear. In need of restoration. Dimensions 129x61x103 cm, top height 76 cm. This beautiful lady's desk enchants with its elegant forms, fine inlays and bronze fittings. Weisweiler originals are rare and very expensive. Our furniture was made about 50 years later, but is very finely crafted and a magnificent addition to any furniture collection.
