KIRMAN carpet (Iran), 2nd third of the 20th century
Dimensions : 400 x 290cm.
Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on a cotton foundation.
A sublime lozenge medallion, poly-lobed and vegetalized, old gold, with acanthus leaves, roses crown, starry heart and flowery bouquets, is enthroned in the center of a ruby field, oblong with braces, scattered with polychrome bouquets. Spandrels and large inner frame "molded" composed of exuberant floral compositions. The border is made up of cartouches and multicoloured plant medallions. Colourful palette.
