A very good, well-bound, fresh copy (slight spotting, almost free of foxing). First edition of the French translation. With an important preface (152 p.) in the form of an essay by Théodore Jouffroy. According to Serge Nicolas this preface is a "reference text of what was then called the psychological method". Jessop, p. 177-178; Quérard IX, 267. This is D. Stewart's most important work, originally published in 1793. A fine copy.
