Height: 37 cm. Flanders, early 17th century. Heavy hollow casting. The Madonna in contrapposto on a cast square base with lateral coffered recesses and engraved diamond pattern. The leg position rendered almost striding, with the left knee effecting the folding diagonally downward to the right in the sweep. The child in Mary's right arm corresponding with the viewer with raised blessing little hand, the left hand placed on Mary's breast. The Madonna's head slightly inclined towards the child, with pensive, inwardly turned facial expression. Rounded sculpture, accordingly also worked at the back with high quality folding.
