Height: 156 cm. Base width: 61 cm. Probably Italy or Augsburg under Italian influence, Early 17th century. The base and the cross are ebonized, but the front sides are mirrored with geometric decoration. The body of Christ finely and most qualitatively carved in the four-nail type, but with the feet closely superimposed. The bearded head is lowered, but the eyes are closed. The stronger upper body with fine wavy suggestion of the ribs, but without side wound. The partly finely undercut loincloth, with delicate cord and richly folded, trailing down the left side of the body. Equally finely carved the inscription flag with inscription "Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum" attached to the upper part of the cross, shown here waving. The display case base with cranked foot zone and indented box construction, laterally crowned by semi-circular swinging arches with volute carving. Between them a glazed recess for a former relic no longer present here. The main feature of the pedestal is the "sepulchre of Christ" behind edge-ground glazing. The body of Christ on a cloth-covered pedestal, wept over by two winged little angels facing the sides. Framing of the central zone, like the cross beams, by rim-cut glazed mirroring. The mirrors yellowed and partially browned due to age, some of the glass covers in the crossbars missing. A small front section of the sprung pediment at the base is missing.
