Height of the figure: 108 cm, hollowed at the back. Desk: height: 64 cm; width: 46 cm. Probably Swabia, end of the 15th century. Figure and lectern worked separately. Mary standing, wearing a white dress with a wide belt under a red cloak with a blue lining. The head slightly inclined to the left, with a thoughtful, inwardly directed facial expression. Both hands outstretched, in fine carving. The medium parted brown hair, with golden band over forehead, falls sideways in curly waves over shoulders and down front. The prayer desk at the front with inset carved Gothic tracery, below which are two gilt small coats of arms. On the lectern an open carved prayer book, the pages painted with text in majuscules. Erg.
