Height: 158 cm. Width: 170 cm. Depth: 40 cm. Pair of elegant half cupboards made in boulle technique, with glazed doors, made as collection or library cupboards. Each of straight construction, two doors, the corners rounded and fluted, the sides retreating in an S-arched curve on the wall side. The corpus rests on straight pedestals that follow the curves of the furniture on the sides. The upper end slightly protruding in the cornice, tapering upwards in a throaty curve and closing straight. The boulle inlays, broadbanded in brass, stand out against the polished ebonized wood parts. The decoration shows symmetrically developed floral ornamentation, with large leaf shapes in the corners of the door hinges, tapering into curved leaves at the sides. The glass surfaces are closed at the top with basket arches. In the crowning wide throat boulle marquetry showing grotesque figures in keeping with the French Louis XIV style, with fancy birds, slender foliate festoons and anthropomorphic figures.
