PAIR OF BRONZE FIGURESIncl. bases: 37 x 25.5 x 23.5 cm. On Louis XIV bases with ornamental boulle decoration on lion paw feet in bronze with acanthus decoration. Bronze, cast mounted. Based on the famous slaves designed by Pietro Tacca for the monument to Ferdinand I of Tuscany, completed in 1626. It is now in Piazza Micheli in Livorno and is one of the most important monuments in the city. Provenance: Sotheby's, London, 9 July 2011, lot 90 a.
