PATEK PHILIPPE, Calatrava, Ref. 3919J, movement no. 1822740, case no. 2888515, sold in 1991. A very fine and rare, 18k yellow gold wristwatch with “Clous de Paris” bezel, white porcelain dial with radial Roman numerals, leather strap and 18k gold PP buckle Accompanied by a Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin dated May 1991 issued by Magasin Patek Philippe S.A and a pair of matching 18k gold PP cufflinks. Fitted with cal. 215S, mechanical, rhodium plated movement, 18 jewels, stamped with the Seal of Geneva, manual winding Dial, case and movement signed. Cufflinks stamped PPCo. Diam. 33 mm. Thickness 6.50 mm. ★★ The reference 3919 was produced from 1985 to 2006. This elegant model sets the benchmark for a beautiful modern dress watch. The white porcelain dial is adorned with crisp printed black Roman numerals and the manufacturer's signature. The leaf hands and subtle subsidiary seconds offer a nod to the early Calatrava design. But the design feature that most stands out is the “Clous de Paris” bezel design, which up close are small pyramids lined up in formation. The movement inside is a beautifully finished manual-winding caliber 215PS (“PS” meaning “Petite Seconde”) ticking away at 28,800 beats per hour.
