Cameroon
Wood - 53 cm
Provenance:
Fernando Pujol, Barcelona
European private collection
This mask bears a great stylistic resemblance to a Bamoun mask belonging to the collection of the Musée Quai Branly. The way the eyes, nose, and mouth are arranged indicates that it comes from the same workshop or even sculptor. The mask from the Quai Branly collection was collected in 1934 in the village of Fumban, West Region, Noun.
