Note : "Belgian engraver and watercolorist. Originally, he followed a training in sculpture at the Academy of Saint-Josse-Ten-Noode with Gustave Jacobs then, from 1941 to 1946, in painting at the Academy of Brussels with Jacques Maes and Leon Devos. A skilled engraver, he was able to bite directly into a copper plate and was also very productive, since his two catalogues raisonnés list just over 800 prints. A polymorphous artist, always tempted by experimentation, he also happily devoted himself to sculpture and goldsmithing or became the illustrator of poet friends such as André Sempoux, Jean Orizet and Philippe Roberts-Jones. - René Carcan Foundation
