A celadon and russet jade carving of a mythical beast. 18th/19th century Posed seated on his haunches with the curled tail swept against his left haunch, his raised head inclined slightly to the right, his face with a good-natured expression with flaring nostrils and large rounded eyes beneath bushy eyebrows and curled ears. The celadon stone heighted with russet patches along the back, tail and one haunch. Height 5.6 cm Provenance Private collection, Belgium, acquired at Christie´s, New York in 1967
