A fire-gilt bronze figure of a twelve-armed and four-headed Guanyin. 17th/18th century Seated in meditation with long robes with finely incised srolls to the borders spreading out in front of the deity, the primary hands in anjali mudra, the subsidiary hands holding attibutes and lifting a seated Amitabha Buddha above Guanyin's head, behind the ears and behind the ornamte diadem three more heads. Height 21.2 cm Provenance Private collection, The Netherlands, acquired in the 1970s in Brussels, and thence by descent
