Ceramic bowl with black figures, a drinking vessel... Lot 301 1

Ceramic bowl with black figures, a drinking vessel used for banquets. The bowl is entirely glazed in black, except for a band between the handles and a line in the lower part of the bowl and the underside of the foot. The deep bowl, with a finely moulded red fillet at the junction of the foot and body and a convex lip, rests on a high stemmed foot. The ornamentation is in the miniaturist style in the decorative tradition of banded bowls, with a horse in the centre and on either side four figures with incised anatomical or clothing details painted in white and dark red.
