Original KIRMAN-LAVER carpet (Persia), late 19th century
Size : 220 x 135cm
Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on a cotton foundation.
Ivory background with rich scrolls, garlands and palmettes of flowers, decorated with a large central medallion inlaid with a starry rosette in old gold, midnight blue, ruby, ivory and old rose. Four spandrels with crowns of palmettes in polychrome. Main border reminiscent of the central field.
